Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Reduce, reuse, recycle. This was a mantra that I heard time and time again when I was in school despite the fact that we never had recycling bins on the campus. It often made me wonder how I was supposed to recycle many of the materials that we used through all of my years at school and even through to my adult years. While now I live in an area that has recycling capabilities, there are still some substances that I question when it comes to those three R’s. Styrofoam is the big one for me, but for the longest time it was water. After all, so much water gets wasted every day. How can we help to reduce the amount of water we use? Is there a way to reuse something like water? How can you recycle something that is liquid?

Thankfully, there is an answer to each of these questions. There are dozens of steps that we can take each day to help reduce the amount of water we waste. For example, something as simple as turning off the tap while you’re brushing your teeth can save up to 200 gallons a month! You can also look into energy efficient appliances such as washers and dishwashers. These typically use much less water and can save you a load of money in the process! So now that we know how to reduce water use, what about reusing it?

Reusing water may sound impossible, or even gross depending on what springs to mind, but it doesn’t have to be! You can save water from cooking and use it to water your plants or even collect rainwater to use for other things. Just be sure that you know your local laws about rainwater collection, as it is not allowed in some places.

Here at Neptune, we like to help you recycle things like water, so we have something put in place in each and every one of our automated wash systems to help you reduce the waste of water that you may experience with your current wash system. We understand how important water is, so we know that being more efficient is a large goal of everyone. After all, the less water you use, the more money you save. With Neptune, you can get the best of both worlds while still getting an incredible clean!
