Here at Neptune Wash Solutions, it is our goal to protect the environment by eliminating the spread of dust, toxins, and other potential pollutants. Our innovative wash systems clean and sanitize vehicles of all shapes and sizes, and we dedicate our efforts to always being at the forefront of the clean road revolution. Unfortunately, even with efforts to prevent environmental pollution, there are still some processes that require heavy regulation. In these cases, the United States Environmental Protection Agency must step in and monitor the activity.

For example, let’s take a look at mining. Mining as a practice is highly regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Employees must follow certain procedures and guidelines, as laid out by the EPA. Not only that, but the EPA also controls where, when, and how often a site may be mined. Even so, the very nature of the work causes significant disturbance on and above the surface of the earth. So let’s analyze the ways in which mining and erosion can impact the world we live in.

  1. Air Pollution. An essential part of the mining process is drilling down into the earth. As the grass and shrubs are ripped from the ground, the bare soil underneath loosens and becomes exposed to the elements. Without any roots to hold the dirt in place, the wind can freely lift it into the air. This causes dust clouds and degraded air quality.
  2. Destabilization. Our earth is made up of layers of soil and sediment stacked on top of one another. Drilling down through those layers can lead to destabilization. This can cause massive erosion and collapses, even beyond the borders of the mining site. With these collapses, of course, comes an increased risk to local infrastructure.
  3. Water Pollution. Mining companies often utilize corrosive substances to perform their duties. These substances, when mixed with rainwater and leeched into the soil, can cause major damage to the environment. The resulting concoction would be toxic to plants and animals alike.
  4. Disruption & Destruction of Natural Ecosystems. The flora and fauna of the natural world are in delicate balance. Mining can throw this balance off kilter, even destroying natural habitats and ecosystems.

These are just a few of the many effects that mining and erosion can have on our environment. Do your part to minimize your own environmental impact! The custom-made wash bays of Neptune Wash Solutions will ensure that your vehicles are clean and sanitized before heading out on the roads.
