Clean trucks…Inside and Out
If you drive trucks, you probably realize just how much gas you go through on long trips. It can take a lot of fuel to get from one spot to another, especially if you’re a long-haul, over-the-road trucker. My grandfather, and many others in my family, all drove tractor trailers and would often take trips from New Jersey where they were living at the time up to Nova Scotia, Canada. That was normally at least a 14-hour drive and being fully loaded meant it took a lot to get him there. One thing that always amazed me was that my grandfather never really had to wash his truck.
There were times it would get dirty of course, so he would clean it. However, I can remember asking him about washing out the trailer and getting a confused look in return. He drove in the 1950’s before many regulations, but it always made me cringe a bit. Can you just imagine all of the dirt and bacteria that had settled on his truck going back and forth between countries like that? Even going down the road, my car tends to get dirty so I can only imagine taking a non-stop run for 15 or so hours and back.
Thankfully, we do have regulations now that mandate you clean out your trailers or wash your trucks at least periodically. This is as much for the merchandise that you are transporting as it is for the environments that you are driving through. You want to always try and leave things at least as clean as they were when you found them and the Earth is no different. If you have dirt, plant matter, or even bugs that aren’t meant to be in an area find their way there on your truck, you may have just caused a bit of a problem. This is one of the reasons Neptune takes washing so seriously.
Here at Neptune, we care about the Earth and the environment. We have created our entire automated wash system to be as efficient as possible so that we can conserve more water and still get an incredible clean. If the environment is something that is important to you, give us a call and see what system would be right for your company. You never know what you might be missing out on!
