With the calendar nearly finding it’s way into May, it seems like warm weather is teasing us with the constant changes in temperature from one day to the next. One of the reasons that we look forward to the warm weather is because of how difficult our trucks can be to wash when it is cold outside. There are multiple reasons why you should wash your trucks in warmer weather, and now that we can see those warm days ahead we can start talking about them again.

One of the best reasons for you to take advantage of these warmer days is because it takes less energy to wash your trucks. While it takes about the same amount of water regardless of the temperature outside, you don’t have to worry about it icing over when it’s warm. This means that you can forgo some of the drying steps that you need to take during the winter.

Another reason that you should wash your trucks in warmer weather when possible is to prevent any type of freezing, especially on the lines in your truck. You will generally want to wash the undercarriage of your trucks as well, and in the winter it can be hard to get that dry before the water starts to freeze. This can cause issues like rust and even cracking in some of the lines that keep your truck running correctly and safely. Obviously this is something you want to avoid, so it is always better to wash when it is warm if given the choice.

Of course we know that you can’t always control mother nature, but if you notice that there is a certain day coming up that is forecasted to be nice and warm and sunny, maybe schedule that day as the day you run all of your trucks through the automated wash system that you got from Neptune. After all, you’ll probably want to be outside to soak up some of that sun as well, so it really is a win-win!
