Wheel-wash-sprayingAs the beginning of fall approaches, we will likely be seeing lower temperatures slowly creep their way into our lives. While this may excite the fall and winter lovers among us, it also brings up the thought of a rather unfriendly natural occurrence: ice. While ice is a wonderful novelty in the summer, especially in our lemonade, it becomes less of a thing to look forward to the cooler the outside temperature turns. This is especially true when it comes to our vehicles. Whether the ice is on the road or on our cars, it can create dangerous circumstances if not taken care of.

Washing your truck outside is, obviously, the best and easiest way to get it done. However, when the temperatures turn cold it becomes more difficult to leave the water to air dry. Even if the surface of your truck is dried, you need to take extra care to ensure that ice doesn’t form on the undercarriage or on the doors, as it can take ages to get back into a vehicle whose doors have been frozen shut. While there are some helpful tips to keep the mechanisms loose and unstuck, it is much easier to immediately dry your trucks than trying a bunch of different home remedies.

When using an automated truck wash system in the summer, it can be easy to forget the extra steps you may need to take once the weather turns cold to keep your fleet in top shape. It is, however, extremely important to think about the possible ways the weather can affect your business even when you aren’t on the road. Defrosting your car on a cold winter’s morning can take a long enough time, trying to chisel your way through to the cab of a truck or into the trailer can be even more of a nightmare.

Thankfully, we do have a few more weeks at least of decent weather. If you haven’t given your fleet a good wash in a while, now may be the time to start thinking about doing so. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of a bit of warm weather to wash down all the vehicles you are in control of. Just remember, using Neptune Systems is the most effective way to keep your entire fleet clean any time of the year!
